Happy Easter!
I was so excited last night as I was getting my house ready for my husband to come home from a boys weekend and I was making homemade cinnamon rolls for Easter and I realized that I totally had an idea for a blog post. So here we are on post #2 :)My husband and I don't have any children and are planning to wait a bit longer before we start trying, but I have been realizing that holidays seem to pass us by relatively unnoticed because I don't really decorate, we are busily living our lives, and we don't have any children to make them special for. I am a firm believer that you must start today the habits and traditions you want to have in the future because when you have children they will already be second nature and easier to keep up with.
Yesterday as I was running a few errands I realized that today was Easter and I didn't have anything special planned. This prompted my previous thoughts on traditions and habits. In an effort to keep and start traditions and surprise my husband I went to the store to get supplies for small Easter Bunny baskets and an Easter Morning Feast. The main dish in our feast was to be homemade Cinnamon roles (bread rises) in honor of Christ rising from the dead so that all mankind could one day do the same. I made the cinnamon rolls in a heart shape to signify the magnification of Christ's love for us by dying on the cross.
(P.S. My husband said they were amazing!!)
My surprise was successful! When we woke up my husband walked into the living room then turned around and with a smile on his face said, "When did you do this?" referring to the tinny chocolate filled Easter Baskets. Mission Accomplished!
